Yoga – individuals and therapy
Individual lessons offer a perspective on Yoga encompassing traditional and modern approaches to healing and therapy. The focus is to develop a personalised home practice which meets and supports a person’s specific interests and needs. As a therapy Yoga maybe used to recover, maintain or improve our current state of health. It maybe used as a support to help those who :
- are committed to developing a personal yoga practice
- have a therapeutic need they wish to address:eg
stress, anxiety, energetic or structural problems, breathing difficulties etc
- are pregnant, and would like individual advice and support
- are interested to deepen and extend their practice of yoga
- find that committing to a regular class is very difficult
Traditionally taught in this way one-to-one teaching is still acknowledged as the most beneficial way to explore the myriad possibilities of Yoga. It offers the clear benefits of the undivided attention of the teacher, and supports the student in developing and sustaining their own practice at home.
A clear, diagrammatic, structured home practice is supplied to all students. This will vary in content and length (usually between 15-45 minutes) dependent on the established requirements of the student.
Sessions are usually 60 minutes in duration and can be as frequent as required. Once home practice is established sessions are approximately 4 weeks apart.
